On Saturday 13th September, the Beacons U9 Whites put in a fantastic team performance at the Ash & Strotten Tournament at Mottingham Playing Fields.
The boys advanced from the group stage with just one defeat and only three goals conceded across all matches — a brilliant defensive effort that set the tone for the day.
In the semi-final, the team kept their composure in a tight contest, securing a 1–0 victory thanks to Viktor’s decisive strike. That win set up a place in the final, where the Beacons dominated proceedings. Creating chance after chance, the boys could easily have won by five clear goals in normal time, but the match finished level and went to penalties.
Showing great character under pressure, the team held their nerve in the shootout, running out 4–2 winners. Special mention goes to Louie in goal, who made two outstanding saves to secure the trophy.
A brilliant day for the U9 Whites — a true team effort with plenty to be proud of!
